PRP

Also called Platelet Rich Plasma treatment involves using a patient’s own blood to extract and concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors and other bioactive proteins. These concentrated platelets are then injected into the targeted area of the body to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration.

Procedure

Blood Collection: A small amount of the patient’s blood (usually around 30-60 milliliters) is drawn from their arm, similar to a routine blood test.

Centrifugation: The collected blood is then placed in a centrifuge machine, which spins the blood to separate its components. This process isolates the platelets and plasma from other blood cells.

Platelet Concentration: The concentrated platelets, along with the plasma, are collected and prepared for injection.

Injection: The PRP solution is then injected directly into the targeted area using a fine needle. The number of injections and the injection site depend on the specific medical condition being treated.

PRP treatment is generally considered safe because it uses the patient’s own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or rejection.

Benefits

  • Tissue Regeneration: Due to  a high concentration of growth factors, cytokines, and other bioactive proteins that can stimulate tissue regeneration.
  • Reduced Inflammation: It anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Pain Relief: Reduced pain and improved function.
  •  Minimally Invasive: is minimally invasive, involving injections rather than surgery.
  • Natural Approach: from the patient’s own blood, so there is minimal risk of allergic reactions or rejection.
  • Skin Rejuvenation: is used to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can result in a more youthful appearance.
